4 years agoNew England Patriots defensive tackle Byron Cowart was placed on the COVID-19 list on Monday, further weakening the Patriots Defense ahead of its matchup against Denver next Sunday. Having started each of the team’s first four games despite playing fewer than 50 percent of the snaps in any contest, Cowart combined for eight tackles in that span. With Michael Barnett on Injured Reserve, the Patriots interior defensive line depth is severely lacking, which may make the unit an unattractive option no matter which quarterback Denver sends to the field in Week 6.
