6 years agoAfter two rough starts, San Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard has a golden opportunity to strengthen his foothold on the starting job. Beathard will face the Oakland Raiders in Week 9 who have been miserable against the pass. The Raiders defense ranks last in the NFL with just seven sacks and yield 8.6 yards per pass attempt. Beathard has demonstrated that allotted time in the pocket, he can make the necessary throws to move the chains. While prone to turnovers, Beathard is a sneaky, matchup-friendly QB2 in Week 9.
