6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard completed 16 of 23 passes for 245 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers, also rushing for 21 yards. The yardage and volume weren’t there, but this was Beathard’s most effective game this season. His interception was a third down heave that was essentially a punt. Beathard had the offense humming in the first half, uncorking two long scores to receiver Marquise Goodwin. With the lead and a punishing ground game, the Niners went conservative late which likely cost them the victory. Beathard’s exceeded expectations since replacing Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) and if he can limit the turnovers, he’ll remain in the QB2 or streamer conversation.
