4 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron went 2-for-4 with a single, a double and two runs scored in an 8-5 win over the Dodgers on Opening Day. This was a solid debut for Cron, who started at first base and batted fifth. He smacked a ground-rule double off reliever Jimmy Nelson in the bottom of the seventh inning, which would have scored Charlie Blackmon had the ball not bounced over the wall. Even with the Rockies not expected to be competitive this season, they still have a lineup capable of putting up a ton of runs at home. Cron should be right in the middle of it all season, barring health. He'll look to extend his hitting streak on Friday against Trevor Bauer.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
