4 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a lower back strain, the team announced on Twitter. Cron was scratched from the lineup on Friday night with lower back tightness, and then was held out of Saturday and Sunday's games. In Cron's absence, Connor Joe is likely to continue to see increased playing time at first base. Joe is 1-for-6 with four walks and a run scored through his first three games, and in the minors he has flashed double-digit home run potential that could translate well at Coors Field. Managers in deep mixed leagues or NL-only formats may want to take a look at Joe as a solid upside, short-term replacement.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
