C.J. Saunders Impressing Again This Summer

2 years agoCarolina Panthers wide receiver C.J. Saunders impressed during last year's training camp as an undrafted free agent, but most wrote him off as an undersized receiver making the most of his repetitions in non-contact drills against second- and third-stringers. Saunders is impressing again this year, often against the starting secondary, and it's clear he's earned the trust of quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold and every other QB with his ability to get open and make catches. The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder spent most of 2021 on the practice squad before playing in two of the last three games while catching two passes for 11 yards in Week 18.
