5 years agoSan Diego pitcher Cal Quantrill has been shuffled around all year, with the Padres using him in a variety of roles. Quantrill has been used as both a traditional starter and the following starter, also being used as an opening pitcher as well. Coming off his best performance of the year, following Adrian Morejon against the Cubs on July 21 and shutting them out over 5 2/3 innings allowing just two hits and zero walks. Quantrill wasn't as sharp on Saturday in his traditional start against the Giants, allowing only one run on three hits while walking four, but still picked up his fourth win of the season. Whether as a following or traditional starter, Quantrill will likely line up to face the Dodgers on August 3.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
