5 years agoAfter being a following pitcher in his last appearance, San Diego rookie pitcher Cal Quantrill is set for a traditional start on Saturday night, when the Padres face the San Francisco Giants at home. Quantrill followed opener Adrian Morejon in his last appearance, entering in the third inning against the Cubs and dominating Chicago for 5 2/3 innings; allowing no runs on two hits, while striking out six. In his appearance prior to that, Quantrill had a traditional start against the Atlanta Braves, striking out three over six shutout inning, allowing just three hits and a walk. Tonight Quantrill faces the last opponent to score on him - a Giants team that tagged him for three runs in 4 2/3 innings on July 3.--Nicklaus Gaut - RotoBaller
