Cale Makar Could Make NHL Debut In Game 3
6 years agoThe Colorado Avalanche signed University of Massachusetts defenseman Cale Makar to a standard three-year, entry-level contract on Sunday, less than 12 hours after the rearguard lost to Minnesota-Duluth in the NCAA Championship Game at the Frozen Four. Makar led all NCAA defensemen with 49 points, while registering 16 goals. He was the team's No. 4 overall selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. It could be a huge addition for the Avalanche blue line, as Sam Girard (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury in Game 2 on Saturday and he is uncertain for Monday's Game 3 against the Calgary Flames.
