5 years agoMiami Marlins starter Caleb Smith (hip) allowed two hits, both solo home runs, in 4 1/3 innings of work during a rehab start with Double-A Jacksonville on Monday. He struck out 11 batters while walking one. The 27-year-old claimed that his hip did not bother him at all during the contest, which suggests a return to the Marlins' rotation could come later in the week. With Pablo Lopez (shoulder) still sidelined, Zac Gallen and Jordan Yamamoto will likely stick in the majors even when Smith returns.
