4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Caleb Smith looked sharp once again on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six in 4 1/3 innings of work against Milwaukee. It was his second straight outing allowing one run while striking out five or more, as he held the Giants to one run on one hit and four walks in his last outing while striking out five in 2 1/3 innings. After getting rocked in his first start of the spring, Smith has been lights out over his last three appearances, allowing two runs in 9 2/3 innings while striking out 14. However, he has allowed six hits and six walks in that span as well. Smith is looking like he'll be a high-end streaming option in most formats early on this year, and if he gets off to a hot start in April he could be worth rostering in mixed leagues.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
