7 years agoMiami Marlins pitcher Caleb Smith will start the second game of the season on Friday at home against the Cubs. Odrisamer Despaigne will start the third game on Saturday. Smith had a 7.71 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in nine outings (two starts) in his first big league action with the Yankees last year, but posted a 2.41 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 9.1 K/9 in 17 starts at Double-A and Triple-A in 2017. He'll get an opportunity with the rebuilding Fish, but he's likely to be very inconsistent in his first extended run as a starter. Smith is certainly one to avoid against the Cubbies in DFS games on Friday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
