4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks left-handed pitcher Caleb Smith will make his first start for the organization Friday against Seattle. Smith has made just one start this year before his 2020 was sidelined by the COVID-19 outbreak within the Marlins' organization. Dealt to Arizona at the Trade Deadline in the Starling Marte deal, Smith is a high-upside arm moving forward, even as he moves away from Marlins Park. He likely won’t be stretched out enough to be a considerable fantasy asset Friday despite Seattle’s offensive struggles, but a solid showing should put him in the mix for being rostered down the stretch.--Jesse Borek
