3 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers (Achilles) has made a quick recovery from a torn Achilles in the summer, but his timetable for a return to games slowed on Thursday. "And so, I would say the Niners game, or the playoffs is what we've always kind of pinpointed as the potential spots," head coach Sean McVay said. The Rams play the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday and the San Francisco 49ers in the regular season finale in Week 18. Especially with Sony Michel flourishing since taking over for the injured Darrell Henderson Jr., it seems unlikely that Akers will see any game action until maybe the playoffs. McVay said that Akers is still working to return to game readiness, so it'll almost certainly be rookie Jake Funk backing up Michel against Baltimore this week.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
