Cam Akers Rejoins Rams Active Roster, Out For Week 16
3 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers (Achilles) was a surprise addition to the team's active roster for Sunday's game against Minnesota, but he won't be traveling to take the field. Akers sustained a torn Achilles tendon back in July, an injury that was thought to keep him out for the season; the team has since kept the door open to getting the 22-year-old back for the postseason. That timeline appears to remain on track, although L.A. will be able to get Akers a pension credit by having him on the active roster for three games. For now -- and likely the remainder of the regular season -- fantasy managers can bank on Darrell Henderson Jr. and Sony Michel holding down the team's backfield duties. That split remains difficult to predict entering Week 16, but both hold at least solid appeal against a Vikings defense that yields 128.5 yards per game on the ground.
