4 years agoLos Angeles Rams rookie running back Cam Akers (rib) had missed the last two games after exiting Week 2 early, but he ran quite well in the team's Week 5 win over the Washington Football Team. He had nine carries for 61 yards on the afternoon. His 61 yards were just seven fewer yards than teammates Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown had combined for on the ground. This was the type of performance that everyone has been hoping to see out of the second-round rookie. Head coach Sean McVay stated after the game that he expects Akers to have a bigger workload next week against the San Francisco 49ers. Akers is still in wait-and-see mode for fantasy, but he's closing in on becoming a starting option.--Gage Bridgford - RotoBaller
