2 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers is confident about his health going into his Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. "I know I'm healthy," Akers told The Orange County Register. Akers returned incredibly quickly from an Achilles tear suffered in the summer of 2021 and rushed for 172 yards on 67 carries in the playoffs after missing the first 16 games of last season. Despite his low efficiency, his quick rehab was impressive -- he was expected to miss the entire season. He missed the preseason with what Rams head coach Sean McVay called a non-serious "soft-tissue" injury. He is back at practice this week and expected to start Week 1 as the No. 1 RB, but McVay has talked recently about using both Akers and No. 2 Darrell Henderson. Buffalo was the 15th-ranked rushing defense in terms of yards per game last season. Akers is a low-end RB2 in this Thursday matchup to kick off the 2022 regular season.--Mitchell Blatt - RotoBaller
