7 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton completed 24 of 40 passes for 349 yards, including two touchdown passes, in the Panthers 31-26 loss to the Saints. The Panthers offense had some missed opportunities in the first half, but Newton kept coming, highlighted by an excellent 56-yard strike to running back Christian McCaffrey to pull within a score in the fourth quarter. Newton also added 37 rushing yards in the game and truly carried the Panthers most of this season. Newton and Co. will need to use this offseason to add more weapons on the outside for Cam to throw to, but the pieces are there for them to have a dangerous offense again next season.--Joey C - RotoBaller
