Cam Newton Goes Without Touchdown In Week 1
5 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton failed to lead his team past the Rams in Week 1. Despite finishing with 239 yards while completing 65 percent of his passes (25-for-38), Newton was unable to find the end zone, with the team relying on running back Christian McCaffrey to pick up the slack offensively. It was still a semi-efficient outing for the veteran, especially after dealing with a nagging shoulder issue in 2018 that led to offseason surgery. He will look to get it going in Week 2, with the Panthers getting only a few days off before meeting the Bucs on Thursday night. He remains a must-start in most cases.
