Camilo Doval Completes Four-Out Save Saturday
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants reliever Camilo Doval pitched 1.1 innings of perfect baseball while striking out two to close out Saturday's 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. It was his 19th save of the season, which leads the club by a wide margin. Despite the Giants disappointing season, Doval's turning in a fantastic year after breaking onto the scene in 2021. The 25-year-old has posted a 2.78 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, and he's struck out 66 batters over 55 innings. He may not garner as many saves as the top arms in the league, but he's been locked into the closer role for most of the season and offers plenty of value in the other categories.
