Cardinals Bring A.J. Green Back
3 years agoThe Arizona Cardinals re-signed wide receiver A.J. Green to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday. In his first year in the desert in 2021, Green wasn't bad, securing 54 of his 92 targets for 848 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games (nine starts). It was his second straight injury free season after playing in just nine games in 2018 and missing all of the 2019 campaign due to injury. The 33-year-old's production was helped by the fact that DeAndre Hopkins missed three games in the middle of the season, but the Cardinals also lost pass-catcher Christian Kirk to free agency. As things stand now, Hopkins, Green and Rondale Moore should be the team's top three receivers in 2022. Green is an injury risk but will have value as a WR4/flex in a powerful offense if he stays healthy.
