5 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals are contemplating calling up pitcher Alex Reyes to take over Genesis Cabrera's spot in the rotation next weekend when the team travels to face the Cubs in Chicago. Manager Mike Shildt said "we wouldn't rule it out" and it may be dependent on how his start on Sunday goes for the Triple-A Memphis team. This outing would line Reyes up for a possible start next weekend, although he's only pitched in a couple of rehab games since breaking his finger in April. There's a lot of untapped potential in Reyes' arm, and he is worth a speculative add in deep leagues on that fact alone despite his big league struggles early this year.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
