Cardinals Finalize Deal With Albert Pujols
3 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals finalized a one-year, $2.5 million deal with free-agent first baseman Albert Pujols on Sunday, according to sources. Pujols is expected to arrive in Jupiter, Florida, this week. The 42-year-old future Hall of Famer has come full circle and will sign with the team that he began his illustrious career with. Now at the very end of his career, Pujols will serve as a right-handed bat off the bench for the Cardinals after hitting .236/.284/.433 with 17 home runs, 50 RBI and 29 runs scored in 109 games with the Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers last year. Pujols made nine All-Star teams while playing for St. Louis from 2001-11 to begin his career.
