Cardinals Stun Braves With 10 First-Inning Runs
5 years agoWow. In a deemed pick-em by Vegas, Jack Flaherty and Mike Foltynewicz were supposed to duel and hold each other to one or two runs, at most. The Cardinals had other ideas, demolishing Foltynewicz and putting up 10 runs in the first inning. What might be more surprising is the Cardinals put up 10 runs without a single home run. They had fourteen come to the plate on five hits and two walks, with Fowler, Wong, and Edman doubling in runs. Foltynewicz got just one out before Max Fried replaced him and was nearly as bad. It's going to be quite the uphill battle here for the Braves.
