6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals interim manager Mike Shildt said Saturday that the team is "super optimistic" that starting pitcher Carlos Martinez (oblique) will only miss a single start. A short stint on the disabled list would be great news for fantasy owners as oblique injuries can sometimes be a bit finicky. Martinez is having a solid season to date. He has compiled a 6-6 record, 3.39 ERA, and 1.39 WHIP through 17 starts. While it seems likely that Martinez will return soon, more information should come out over the course of the week.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
