Carlos Carrasco Dealing With Leg Injury
5 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (leg) experienced discomfort in his right leg during a workout Wednesday and is scheduled to undergo further testing and imaging Thursday. He walked into the clubhouse Thursday morning using one crutch under his left arm but was able to put pressure on both legs. While the extent of the injury is unknown, the fact that he was using a crutch to move around in the clubhouse is never a good sign. Carrasco was limited to just 80 innings in 2019 while he recovered from Leukemia but entered spring training with minimal restrictions this year. He is expected to be a key piece of the Indians rotation this season. If Carrasco's leg injury proves to be significant, Cleveland could be without two of their top three starters for Opening Day as Mike Clevinger's knee injury is supposed to sideline him for six to eight weeks. When healthy, Carrasco has the skills and talent that are worthy of a SP2 spot on fantasy rosters, so this injury is certainly one to monitor closely if choosing to invest in Carrasco this year.
