Carlos Carrasco Impressive In No-Decision Thursday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco had the best start of his truncated 2021 season on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants. Carrasco went seven innings, allowing just two earned runs on three hits while striking out five batters in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Giants. Carrasco, who did not factor in the decision, was dealing on Thursday. He only made one mistake which Kris Bryant jumped on for a two-run home run in the first inning. On the season, Carrasco has a 6.94 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 23 1/3 innings pitched. Though these stats are not impressive, fantasy managers should take away the fact that Carrasco appears to be getting back on track after his season-long absence due to a hamstring strain. Fantasy managers in redraft formats should continue to hold Carrasco. He could very well be a difference-maker in leagues down the stretch in September.
