Carlos Carrasco Now In Mets Camp
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco stated on Saturday that he was late to camp due to some extra testing because of his medical history (heart/leukemia). He indicated that the tests showed no issues and he is good-to-go this spring. Carrasco added that because of his delay in arriving to spring training, he expects to miss his first turn through the Grapefruit League rotation but will have enough time to be ready by Opening Day. In 2020 with Cleveland, Carrasco posted a 2.91 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, and struck out 82 batters in 62 IP over 12 starts. If Carrasco can remain healthy, he should provide managers with 170-190 IP, elite ratios, and more than 200 strikeouts in 2021. Carrasco projects as a high-end fantasy SP2 despite his move to a very stacked N.L. East.
