6 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa still has not resumed baseball activities, according to manager A.J. Hinch. Correa was placed on the disabled list last Friday with a sore back and may not be ready to return when his 10-day stint is up. It has been an up-and-down campaign for the All-Star shortstop and the injured back may have been playing a part. After posting a dismal .686 OPS in the month of May, Correa bounced back in June to slash .284/.367/.522 and is currently third on the team with 49 runs driven in. But for Correa, the real issue has been his struggles hitting at Minute Maid Park and his contrasting success on the road. In 39 home games this season, Correa is hitting a paltry .207 with an OPS of .711. But road Correa is a completely different player, posting a .328/.401/.522 line with 17 extra-base hits, 26 runs scored and 28 runs batted in through 34 games away from Minute Maid Park. The team will be cautious with one of their most important players and will make sure he is "symptom free" before being inserted back in the lineup.--Joey C - RotoBaller
