Carlos Correa Hitting Only .180 In May
7 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa will be very happy to leave this month of May in the rearview mirror after this week. Correa is slashing only .180/.306/.426 over his last 61 at-bats and especially has struggled over the past handful of games. He did knock a two-run homer over the weekend, his eighth of the season, but before that had posted only two extra-base hits since May 7. The poor month has driven his batting average down from .331 to .274, but he still is leading the team with 31 runs batted in. Correa is too talented to stay this cold for long, and the team's upcoming seven-game road trip might be a respite for the talented shortstop's slump. In 82 at-bats hitting away from Minute Maid Park, he is slashing .366/.444/.573 with three home runs, eight doubles and an astounding BABIP of .466. The Astros will host the Giants for a two-game series before hitting the road beginning Thursday.
