Carlos Estevez Notches His 11th Save Of The Year
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Carlos Estevez picked up the save on Friday when he struck out two batters over a scoreless ninth inning in a 9-7 win over the Diamondbacks. The Rockies quickly fell behind 7-0 in the third inning in this ball game before storming back with six runs in the sixth and three more in the top of the ninth. Estevez was able to cap off the improbable win with his 11th save of the year. The 28-year-old has been less than spectacular since taking over as the Rockies closer but he's done well enough to outperform the shaky Daniel Bard, whom he replaced. He owns a 4.28 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and 60:21 K/BB on the year. He's also 11-for-17 in save chances.
