3 years agoColorado Rockies relief pitcher Carlos Estevez earned the save on Tuesday when he allowed one hit, one walk, and a strikeout over a scoreless ninth inning in a 5-4 win over the Atlanta Braves. Estevez had his work cut out for him on Tuesday, facing the heart of the Braves' lineup while trying to protect a one-run lead. He walked Eddie Rosario and surrendered a single to Ozzie Albies but was able to work his way around those mistakes and notch the save. The 28-year-old reliever now owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 55:19 K/BB ratio over 54 innings. He's 8-for-13 on save chances as well. He's the certified closer in Colorado but is a little hard to trust as he rarely works a clean ninth inning.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
