3 years agoColorado Rockies closer Carlos Estevez earned the save on Thursday when he allowed one run on two hits with a strikeout over one inning in a 4-3 win over the Phillies. Estevez entered in the ninth inning with the Rockies holding a 4-2 lead and ran into a little trouble. He allowed a single to Brad Miller and a double to Andrew McCutchen before Didi Gregorius knocked in a run with a groundout. Estevez was able to settle in after that and record the final two outs to end the ball game. The 28-year-old reliever is just 6-for-11 on save chances this year but he's picked up four of his last five. He owns a 4.67 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 54:18 K/BB ratio across 52 innings of relief this season.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
