Carlos Gonzalez May Return To Rockies
7 years agoThe Colorado Rockies and free-agent outfielder Carlos Gonzalez are still reportedly communicating, according to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman. Last season, Gonzalez significantly dropped off from his usual production, as his line went from. 298/ .350/ .505 in 2016 to a .262/.339/.423 line in 2017. The environmental factor of Colorado's altitude will definitely help Gonzalez's stats, providing he rejoins the Rockies for what would be his 10th consecutive season. The Rockies outfield remains jam packed with Ian Desmond, Gerardo Parra, Charlie Blackmon and David Dahl. The Rockies will definitely be an option for him, however, there are definitely better options, such as the Orioles or the White Sox. These teams could not only provide Gonzalez an everyday spot in the outfield, but could also slot him in as a designated hitter.
