7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez (oblique) will play catch Tuesday and throw a bullpen session on Friday. If he doesn't have any setbacks, he could return from the disabled list to start on Monday at home against the Rockies, according to manager Mike Shildt. Martinez was hit hard in his first start of the second half last Thursday and has allowed eight earned runs over 10 innings in his last two starts. Overall, he has a 3.39 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 89 strikeouts in 95 2/3 innings over 17 starts. Since the game is in St. Louis on Monday instead of at Colorado, Martinez might be worth starting if he comes back on that day.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
