4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez struggled in his start on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Martinez lasted five innings, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five. All six runs off Martinez came around in the second inning, so he actually pitched four scoreless innings around the rough second. Still, it was not a good start overall, of course, as Martinez drops to 0-3 with a 7.80 ERA. He may not stick in the rotation for as long as expected if he doesn't show some improvement his next few times on the mound.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
