4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez struggled a bit in Saturday's start against the Colorado Rockies but escaped with a win thanks to a nine-run performance by the Cardinals offense. Martinez threw five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and five walks while striking out just two. Martinez threw just 58 of his 97 pitches for strikes. He got off to a bad start this season, but was pitching very well in his last few outings. He had allowed just one run through four, but things unraveled in the fifth inning. He'll have a 3-4 record and a 4.35 ERA the next time he takes the mound.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
