3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez (thumb) will throw a side session Tuesday or Wednesday to determine whether he will pitch Friday against the Cubs. He exited Sunday's start against the Rockies early with a bruised right thumb after the 29-year-old sustained the injury in his lone at-bat. Martinez owns a 6.23 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and a 57:36 K: BB across 82 1/3 innings in 2021. Wade LeBlanc will take the mound on Friday if Martinez is unable to go on Friday. Fantasy managers should look for a different streamer as neither pitcher is a strong option for Friday's slate.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
