Carlos Tocci Expected to Get Regular Playing Time for Rangers
7 years agoWith Texas Rangers outfielder Delino DeShields sidelined with a hand injury, Rangers manager Jeff Banister has opted to start Rule 5 draft pick Carlos Tocci in center field going forward. Originally, Drew Robinson had been penciled in, however, after hitting .167 with 25 strikeouts, he has been moved to the bench. Tocci has struggled during his time in the major leagues, hitting just .077 with seven strikeouts over seven major league games. However, he was a .266 hitter with 59 stolen bases during his time in the minors. He is not the most trustworthy add, but with a newfound opportunity, perhaps he can be a sneaky steals option in deeper leagues.
