Carson Kelly Doing Baseball Activities
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Carson Kelly (oblique) has been doing all catching activities and is also hitting off a tee, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Kelly was placed on the injured list on May 8 after testing showed he had a Grade 1 left oblique strain. He felt something in his left oblique area during batting practice on May 6 and was scratched from the starting lineup that day. It's good news that he's been doing catching activities and even swinging, but there remains no timetable on his potential return to Arizona's lineup. Daulton Varsho has been doing most of the catching with Kelly sidelined, with Grayson Greiner also mixing in occasionally. In 20 games before his injury, Kelly was slashing just .105/.150/.123 with no home runs and one RBI in 57 at-bats.
