7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals number three prospect, catcher Carson Kelly has been off to a slow for the Triple-A Memphis Red Birds. The catcher is hitting just .207 with one home run and three RBI over his first 29 at-bats. Kelly is considered to ultimately replace Yadier Molina when the time comes and has a bright future. Kelly hit .283 with ten home runs in Triple-A in 2017 and also got a cup of coffee in the big leagues, but struggled with a .174 batting average over 69 at-bats. As long as Yadier Molina is healthy and behind the plate in St. Louis, Kelly won’t be helping fantasy owners, but he is a name to monitor in dynasty leagues.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
