Case Cookus Waived By Raiders On Tuesday
3 years agoThe Las Vegas Raiders waived quarterback Case Cookus on Monday, ESPN's Paul Gutierrez reported. Cookus had just been signed as a free agent to the Raiders last Tuesday and looked to potentially get some playing time this preseason with Marcus Mariota sidelined with a leg injury. However, with Mariota reportedly returning this week and Nathan Peterman playing well in Las Vegas' preseason opener, Cookus was clearly the odd man out on the depth chart. Cookus was one of five players waived by the Raiders on Monday, including running back Bo Scarbrough, wide receiver Caleb Scott, long snapper Liam McCullough, and kicker Dominik Eberle.
