4 years agoThe injuries continue to pile up for the Toronto Blue Jays with news that third baseman Cavan Biggio was scratched from today's game with an injury to his pinky finger. The injury is not considered serious at this time and the incident occurred two days ago when he took a ball off his finger while receiving a throw. This news comes a day after it was announced that closer Kirby Yates would likely undergo Tommy John surgery. Outfielder George Springer and Robbie Ray are also dealing with recent injuries although only Kirby is expected to have his availability impacted for opening day. Biggio is expected to slide over from second base to third for the 2021 season. If he is unable to play early in the season, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. — last year's starter at the hot corner — could move back from first base or the club could look to non-roster infielder Joe Panik to full in.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
