Cesar Hernandez Has Option Declined By White Sox
3 years agoChicago White Sox second baseman Cesar Hernandez will become a free agent after the club declined its $6 million dollar option on him. Hernandez hit a career-high 21 homers this past season, but slashed a mediocre .232/.308/.386 in 570 at-bats for both Chicago and Cleveland. This represented a major step back for Hernandez in overall production, as he managed a .753 OPS over his previous five seasons combined. Should Hernandez manage to find a starting role this offseason, he could be a bargain for fantasy managers, especially in categories leagues where he's a sneaky target for runs scored.
