Chad Kuhl Departs Early With Injury As Bucs Woes Continue
4 years agoJust one day after starting pitcher Mitch Keller (oblique) left his start early due to injury, right-handed pitcher Chad Kuhl departed Sunday’s outing versus the Cubs with an apparent blister issue. For the second straight outing, Kuhl piggybacked the start of left-hander Steven Brault; unlike last time, Kuhl lasted just 1 ⅓ innings, allowing one run on two hits and one walk. Despite having made 61 starts for the Pirates from 2016-18, Kuhl has yet to earn a spot back in the club’s starting rotation, even as injuries have severely stunted the club in 2020. In the best-case scenario, he’ll be available next week behind Brault again, but for now, owners can leave Kuhl on the wire while his finger issues are sorted out.
