7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chad Kuhl picked up his second win of the season on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies. He struck out four and surrendered just one run in six innings, though he did allow four hits, three walks and a hit batsman. At least one Rockies hitter reached base in all but Kuhl's final inning. However, the right-hander was able to limit the damage to a solo home run by Chris Iannetta in the third frame. Kuhl now owns a 2-1 record and 4.57 ERA through his first four starts and 21 2/3 innings of the season. He's done a nice job limiting his walks so far this season (7.1 percent walk rate) after having problematic control in 2017 (10.6 percent walk rate), but his lack of strikeouts (17.3 percent strikeout rate) doesn't make him an appealing fantasy option right now. He'll take on the Detroit Tigers in his next outing on Tuesday, where he could be a deep league streamer once again.--Matt Wilkes
