4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chad Kuhl tossed three scoreless innings against the Twins, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four. Kuhl improved to 2-1 this spring, as he has nine strikeouts in six innings of work. Last year Kuhl posted a career-high 22.3 percent strikeout rate, but his 14.2 percent walk rate and 19 percent HR/FB rate were also career highs. Along with that, he appears to have gotten somewhat lucky with his 4.27 ERA, as he sported a 6.70 xERA across 46 1/3 innings. Kuhl is looking good this spring though, so he may be worth a late-round pick in deeper or NL-only formats, but managers should keep their expectations low for now.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
