Chad Pinder Avoids Concussion After HBP In Head
4 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Chad Pinder (head) is not in concussion protocol after being hit in the head with a pitch on Monday. Pinder was hit with an 82-MPH splitter from Angels reliever Junior Guerra and immediately removed from the game. The 29-year-old has had concussions in the past so the team will be careful with Pinder, but it sounds like he avoided serious injury if he's not in concussion protocol. Manager Bob Melvin said he'll see how Pinder feels on Tuesday before providing any update, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Pinder miss a game or two. Skye Bolt is a candidate for additional playing time in the outfield but he doesn't hold much fantasy value.
