Chargers Won't Use Franchise Tag On Hunter Henry
4 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers won't use the franchise tag on tight end Hunter Henry, paving the way for him to become a free agent this season. With the Chargers not working out a long-term deal with Henry by this point, it seems clear he'll be playing elsewhere in 2021. Injuries have limited Henry at times, but he played 14 games last year, grabbing 60 catches for 613 yards and four touchdowns. In the right spot, he can be a solid low-end TE1 play with upside. Meanwhile, it looks like former XFL star Donald Parham is poised to enter 2021 as the lead tight end in Los Angeles barring a free agency signing. Parham has flashed some potential, but isn't as safe a fantasy draft pick as Henry would have been.
