Charlie Barnes Allows One Run Sunday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Charlie Barnes was effective against the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday, allowing just one run on three hits and no walks in five innings. He struck out three batters, and his only real blemish was a solo home run to Mike Zunino in the fifth inning. Barnes has now appeared in four games, with three of them being starts. His 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP aren't too disastrous, but with just nine strikeouts in 18 1/3 innings, it would be hard to see rostering Barnes in any format at this point.
